Someone thought I "had an opinion"

Recently I had a mom from one of my birth classes tell me she thought I "had an opinion" about epidurals in labor...that I was biased against them.  I've been mulling it over in my head, and it occurred to me that I'm not biased against them, I'm biased against their docs telling them they "really like epidurals" and "don't take a class because you're just going to get an epidural."  I don't have a problem with epidurals as long as the family is making a choice and not being told what to do, often times uninformed.  So, get your facts and make the right choice for yourself.

The Thanksgiving Family Photo Attempts (aka Herding Cats)

Not bad, but let's try again.
We tried so hard.

First Big Snow

Ella taught Indi the finer points of eating snow.  It was good eatin' snow too!  Notice where Indigo's right hand mitten is located.  Watch that hand.

What?

Future Nobel Prize winner for literature and model.

Mmm.  Snow.  Need bigger chuck.

I like snow.  Geez my hand hurts so bad.

Actually, when the girls came in from playing (I mean eating) Indi was distraught and holding her hand out to us.  She was looking outside, crying and wouldn't let us hold her hand to warm it up.  We realized that she wasn't crying about her cold hand, she thought her mitten was lost out in the snow.  As soon as we showed her both mittens were in the house the tears subsided.  She is a funny little person.

Happy Halloween!!!

Before...
Our little Jack-O-Lantern

Happy is a cyborg (minus the mask for the picture) and Ella is Elmo.

After....
One more Jack-O-Lantern with the carved versions.   She couldn't sit close enough.  :)

She was clapping in happiness for Halloween...a Tootsie Pop, puppies, kids, visiting the neighbors...life is good.

Ugg!

I'm so sad. I can't figure out how to post pictures with our new computer. I thought I'd figured it out but it turns out I'm mistaken. I guess that's why it's been so long since I've posted anything. I'll keep working on it and see what I can do. Don't go away...

What's New the End of September 2010

I can't believe it's been so long since I've posted anything. Darn that facebook account...

Indi is 16, almost 17 month old. She's signing a lot to communicate, says Momma and Dadda amongst a few others. She has little trouble getting her point across.

Ella is 9 and just wrapped up her 3rd week of 4th grade. Her teachers name is Mrs. Kopesky. Ella's been enjoying being a back in school and trading "silly bands" for stuff. Or maybe trading stuff (like a piece of gum) for a silly band.

Happy will be 11 in a few short weeks. He's playing football and played both defense and offense today. They also won their game against Mounds View 34-0. Fifth grade includes starting in band and we're going to have a trombone player. No trombone yet, if anyone has one they'd like to lend/sell we're interested.

Lydia if off to Milwaukee in four days for a childbirth convention. It'll be my first time away from Indigo. Struggling with those feelings a bit. Hope the pump works!

John's gearing up for a big selling season. Go on out and buy some wine. Then drink it. Sleep a bit and repeat. Thanks.

Another text post. This afternoon Indi was humming Hot Cross Buns. Or at least something similar. Happy had to learn to play the recorder for school music this year and that was on the play list. Ella picked it up as well. Indigo found Ella's recorder today and started walking around humming. I played the music for her and she bobbed her head and danced a little, took the recorder back from me and continued on her with her day.

Communication

This morning Indigo woke up about 7:45 and I nursed her in bed with John falling back asleep next to us. When she was done I moved her over by John to cuddle as she was falling back asleep. As she laid there wiggling her head into just the right wedge of pillow, eyes closed, she held her hand up and made the drinking sign and then the milk sign. Too cute. I had to share.

"Da-da" & Bellybuttons

Third Child Syndrome

Some days are busier than others and Indi's figured out she may have to feed herself. Oops!

Mothers Little Helper

Indigo discovered one more cabinet to clean out for me. Now if I could just teach her to put it all away. She really enjoyed the boxed mac & cheese. Good "shakey shakey."

Singing in the Rain

Happy's 4th grade class did a tribute to musicals and he was one of the dancers in Singing in the Rain. They did a very nice job. No rain in this version...just some drool from Indi.
