33 Weeks and 6 days!

More basement updates

The expanded family area with a storage room ...door not up yet. Waiting to paint and then put in flooring.

The painted bedroom. Waiting to do flooring and then trim. Then...Happy will move in! Hurray. Only 6 weeks and 4 days until the due date.

The addition/remodel is well underway with a long delay in photos. Here's what I DO have to share. We're 13 weeks out from the baby's due date today. Can't wait to get to the sheet rocking portion of this job. That means we'll be able to paint shortly after that!

Friday January 23rd. John and his cousin Jake got all the insulation up on the exterior walls and chalk-lined (is that a word?) the stud layout for the floor so they could get busy on Saturday.

The below photo shows the same corner (to be used as storage) at the end of the weekend. John Sr., brother Nick and Jake helped out to frame and run electrical.

Here's the space that will be Happy's new bedroom. Again, insulated on Friday and then moved on to framing and some electrical over the course of the weekend.

Approximate dimensions are 14'6" x 7' to 9' (there's a bump into his room to accommodate a proposed shower in the new laundry room. There are no pictures of the new laundry yet. Nor walls. But there is a toilet!

High School Musical 2 dolls for Ashley and Ella. We didn't see much of them after they got the dolls. Chad and Taylor are the names of the dolls.

Sophie had a tough time waiting to open her gift. The time finally arrived.

Some funny stuff overheard in the Daugherty house today, Friday November 7, 2008.

Ella: "Why does it feel like Saturday today?"
John: "Because you don't have school?"
Ella: "No."
And that is the end...


Happy: "Cool, Chewbacka can use the Force!"
John: "I didn't know Chewbacka could use the Force."
Happy: "Me either."
Ella: "Can Princess Leia use the Force?"
Happy: "I don't know."

Hap turns 9!

The big guy turned 9 and had a fun sleepover with a couple of good buddies. Lots of talking, tek decking, laughing, eating and playing happened. Happy Birthday Happy!

Grandpa John, Sandy and Joe stopped by also.

The ultimate of the birthday was when Happy's cousin Sophie napped through dinner. She got some grub later and was sitting by the birthday cake. Unknown to the adults...she helped herself to some cake. Actually, about 1/3! Next is a lovely video so you, too, can enjoy the carnage!

Is it a boy or a girl?

The kids could hardly wait to find out if we're having a baby sister or a baby brother. I did get them to sit still for a nice photo. Next is a short video of the kiddos finding out...enjoy.
